English language skills is one of the most serous problems that face Non – English bloggers, its like the weaker spot for them.
If we want to identify the specific corner of the problem that non English bloggers are facing with English is they cannot express what they want from their readers to get or to understand, if you looked at their English sentence you will realize that its a long sentence, because they are trying to make readers understand what the point of their words.
However, we need to ask a simple question,
I think there is 3 reasons why Non English bloggers trying to write in English:
1-English language is 1st language on the internet network, the internet is useless without it, besides most of the informative sources are written in English language.
2- Most of bloggers trying to reach the highest audience for their blogs, so English language will be the best way to communicate with most of internet users and blog visitors.
3- Advertisements is not available for all languages, for example Adsense Program was not available for Arabic Language blogs or websites ( now its ), besides, English ads are commonly more profitable than other languages ads.
* Well there is another reason and its a personal one for me , i try to write in English to refine my writing skills and my English language skills in general.
1- Wrong Spelling : this is the most problem for English and non English bloggers
2- Expressions: Bloggers cannot express the clear point of what they write, this happens due to weak vocabulary background in their minds.
3- Language Grammer: also one of the most hated problem face bloggers, they cannot phrase English sentence correctly.
Well, after identifying the problem aspects, i will share you how i made self learning process on how to refine writing in English.
There is many you can do to refine English writing skills, but first, you need to have the will to make the change, without Will and Patience, you won’t step a move, in my opinion blogging is a long time course for these human characters.
1- You need to be relaxed, be in mind when it comes to brain job you should be comfortable and calm, opening your ” add new post ” then start writing is not a professional way to start writing, you need to arrange the random ideas first, put them in a list, give all corner look for your content you want to write about.
Also the surrounded atmosphere plays a very big part when it comes to writing. choose your most comfortable environment to start blogging. ( for me i close my room door, start playing a chill out song list which makes me very relaxed
2- Have a self confidence, you should have a self confidence about your ability on writing, but this should followed by learning from your mistakes
3- Making mistakes is not a crime, you are not going to jail because of this, so you should put the scare away and start writing, make mistakes that’s not a problem, time after time you will automatically learn from them and you won’t feel the progress ! you will see the results directly in your fingers after a period of time.
4- Don’t gave up! you can do this, think about all other Non English bloggers, some of them has thousands of page views daily, believe in yourself that you can be like them or much more, besides, you can consider English writing like a video game!, yes when we start playing games we always fail in level 1 , after some days you find yourself in the last level of the game.
5- Read, Read AND READ!, reading other blogging articles is not only for getting new information, its a very useful way to learn writing skills by looking in the way other bloggers write in. focus in the phrases , the style and words they use. in other mean ( feel the content you read ).
6- Do not pass words you don’t understand, this is from the biggest mistakes that most of us ( non English bloggers ) do, when we stop on a word which we do not understand the meaning of it, we pass it and go to the next word, well DO NOT PASS IT !, you should type the word into the closest translator device or website service to know what is the meaning of it, some times one word make a huge difference for the whole meaning, for example i learned the word ” niche ” from Darren Rowse (Problogger.net), he uses this word a lot, and now it makes a big difference to me when i read his articles.
7- Use free tools for refining writing skills, internet is full of free translation and spell check tools, i will give some links for the most popular tools.

- Google toolbar: the world most popular browser tool bar, has a lot of features when it comes to writing, Google tool bar conatin spell checker tool to correct your wrong word spells.

Although I’m not an English speaker either, I was taught about 12 years in school (not intensive courses) and after that, about 9 years of Internet usage. Now, I presume my English skills are above average and it’s all I need to communicate pretty well. I won’t start reading Shakespeare nor modern literature just to improve my speaking skills.
Most helpful was the technical documentation to form my vocabulary. Actually, as a funny joke, I spoke to an English lady about how to delete an item in a shopping cart. She looked t me without understanding the meaning of “delete”. Her husband translated this word for her: “remove”. I found that very funny indeed. But I feel just like her when I’m in the kitchen for instance… my vocabulary is veeeeeeery very weak with those…. how do you call them?
Good luck with this blog!

Well I think the best way to refine vocabularies is to read many articles or newspapers , magazines, as i said , do not leave any word you do not understand ! opening Google dictionary from your Google toolbar or whatever translation service you use won’t take seconds, so why wasting the chance to know something new, perhaps this unknown word will be useful to express something in your conversion, and when it comes to writing articles, understanding new more meaning will help a lot. i suggest you to make a page for unknown words and start to translate them later.
You know what, yesterday i was writing an article about a wordpress plugin, and i wrote the word delete, the spell check i use suggest me to change it to ” remove “, that’s a little wired for too lol , and for the English lady, believe me, i spoke to many western English speakers and some of them admit that my English writing skills is better than them !

although i have been living in english speaking country for 27 years english is still my 2nd language. it will never be my first language for a simple reason, you can not override your mother tounge. you can tell from my bad spelling too. although i have studied all the english courses offered in my university and i was the only student (all others were americans) to pass the english language graduation test, i’ve never mastered the english language. simply it is not my mother tongue language. Bader you are ahead one step of your generation and i like it. keep up the good work.
